Belle’s Library dress progress pics

As I said last update, I had gotten the skirt basically put together. It’s still where it was back then – the gathering at the waistband needs to be tweaked, I need to put the waistband on, and hem it.
(I think I am going to leave it a little longer than the dress in the movie is – in the movie it comes right above her ankles – I think I will make it just below, close to how I did the pink dress.)
Last night I got the bodice pieces cut out and put together. It’s just together very basically – I still have a lot left to do on it.

I got the skirt put together, and the basic start of the bodice. I really love my bodice fabric!Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

(Sorry, I should have lightened this a little, didn’t realise it was so dark last night)

I’m going to work on that some more this weekend, if not tonight.

I had a pattern that included a little round puffy sleeve – I pulled it out, and guess what the one piece that’s missing is? Yep. So I just made a stab at it using some leftover lining.

And then here’s one in the real fabric, just pinned on:

Test sleeve worked out, so I cut new sleeves out of my green satin - looks ok!Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

It’s only gathered at the top, I didn’t do the bottom yet – I ran out of bobbin and decided to call it a night.

I’m fairly pleased with it so far. I’m especially happy with the colours. (green has become my favourite colour over the past couple of years!)

I also messed around with bespin Leia just a little bit last night – I safety pinned it all in place so I could move it around. I think I’m going to have to pin it to myself and let my mum tweak the whole thing, though. I don’t want to go through all this on the dressform only to have it wrong.
